A Website That Listens

By Georgy Cohen on June 21, 2011

On our social media channels, we may have this conversation thing all figured out. We ask and answer, listen and learn, share and engage. But what about our websites? Are we extending our mastery of the social web to our .edu? Are we integrating those conversational principles into our digital home base?

Jordan Williams, who has helped create several interactive features on the Middlesex School’s website, implores us to create mechanisms for our community to share their stories. Why? Because they want to.

Social media is now woven into the fabric of our daily lives. As such, social media principles need to be integrated into websites. People want to share. People want to write back. People want more than a comment field. People want to talk about their trip to the beach as well hear about your beach towels.
